Program Information

There are no more beautiful mountains in the world than those of the Karakorum mountains, in that magic place where the Pamir meets the Himalayas and the Hindu Kush range. It is the most amazing confluence of mountain ranges on the planet, and the single pronunciation chills the mountain hunter. There is no place more mythical, more sacred and more beautiful where the mountain lover can be. Hunting for any of the eight mountain species  who Pakistan offers to the hunter, surrounded by mythical seven and eight-thousands peaks, is already a lifetime experience in itself.

Pakistan is a country of open and welcoming people, which remembers India much more in its behavior and culture than to its Afghan neighbors. There are two different areas where almost all hunts are carried out: the Karakorum Mountains, to the north, and especially in the Huntza Valley, where we find the Himalayan ibex, the Blue Sheep, Astor markhor and Kashmir markhor.

The other area is Sindh desert, in the south, where we will access by direct flight to Karachi. It is a dry and desertic  area with lower and more arid mountains, there we will find the Punjab and Blandford urial, the Sindh ibex, the blue bull (Nilgai) and the Chinkara gazelle. Hunting is much less demanding than that of the Karakorum.

Hunting season

November to April with some exceptions such as the Sindh that is hunted in February and March. Hunting season in Pakistan may vary without notice due to sudden changes and delays in the licenses auctions.

Location

Himalayan ibex, Blue sheep and markhors:  Arrival to Islamabad, then domestic flight to Gilgit or Skardu, depending on the hunting area, and then by the famous Himalayan Highway, the well-known narrow road, almost carved in the mountains, that connects Islamabad with China and which has been improving in recent years. In the case of not having an aerial combination, all the transfer will be made through this route … the hunter must be prepared to withstand 20 hours of driving, potholes and curves.

For the Sindh ibex and urial, arrival to Karachi airport and ground transportation to hunting areas (2-4 hours)
